New Jersey’s GAFFED were the unsung legends of the early ‘90s brutal death metal scene, sharing stages with heavyweights like Broken Hope, Mortal Decay and Ripping Corpse. After dropping two legendary demos—“A Meal of Gore” (1994) and “It Hurts to Be Dead” (1995)—the band vanished. But in 2020, during the pandemic, GAFFED brushed off the dust with a brutal vengeance, delivering one of the most unforgettable death metal comebacks with 2023’s "Die Already" (CDN Records)
Despite their underrated legacy, GAFFED never dropped a full-length in the '90s. Now, they’re making up for lost time with “I Can Feel Myself Rot,” their long-awaited second album—and in many ways, the debut that should’ve been. This time around, the band has taken their early demos, completely reimagining and re-recording them with a fresh, crushing production that stays true to their raw power while sounding more brutal than ever. Whether you’re a diehard from back in the day or a newcomer, this album will fuckin’ floor you!!
This isn’t just another retro trip. GAFFED brings the full, brutal force of old-school death metal—think early Cannibal Corpse meets Deicide, with plenty of Northeastern brutality in the vein of Scattered Remnants, Internal Bleeding, and Eternal Suffering. The result? A masterclass in punishing riffs, savage growls, ripping solos, memorable songwriting and relentless energy. It’s an unforgiving journey down memory lane with a razor-sharp modern production.
Gurgling Gore is absolutely honored to have this unrelenting slab of death metal perfection in our catalog. This one’s for the diehards, and we can’t recommend it enough
